Benz Material Testing Instruments offers three series of tensile testers (Universal Testing Machines), as well as custom machines. The TT 2100 series has 36 inch crosshead travels, and the smallest tester is single screw. At the other end of the spectrum, the TT 2300, a freestanding, not countertop, tester, has a 56-inch crosshead.

Specific gravity is determined by taking a sample of known size, weighing it in air, then weighing it in a predefined test solution of a precise density, and then calculating the difference. The resultant is the specific gravity.
The Model ASG is used to determine the specific gravity of uncompounded, compounded, and reclaimed stocks of unvulcanized rubber and rubber-like materials. It conforms with the requirements of ASTM.
The Model ASG comes complete with a hookup to a PC with BENZWIN2000 software for automated data collection and control. The software shows dry weight, wet weight and specific gravity for each test. The average, standard deviation and coefficient of variation is automatically calculated after the second test, and the minimum and maximum values are also presented as well.
The software also calculates volume swell by comparing historic data with the sample after aging. The difference is then presented in percent change.
All data is presented in a spreadsheet format, and creating histograms is as easy as clicking on the selected data. All reports can be printed, exported to a spreadsheet, or stored for later analysis.
The Samples are immersed in a solution to drop the temperature. After three minutes at the desired temperature, the samples are hit with a striker of prescribed radius and speed. The operator then inspects the samples to see how many have failed.
The instrument has a built-in temperature controller, and with the optional liquid nitrogen control, allows the operator the ability to change the temperature and get to the new temperature quickly and accurately.
The Sample Holding Fixture can hold up to ten samples at one time. The amount of energy can be measured after each test to ensure consistent test results.
The instrument is manufactured of stainless steel, anodized aluminum and Epaint to ensure durability and longevity while maintaining an attractive look.
The BP2 requires a table area of 2' wide x 2' deep. An overhead clearance of 3' is recommended for the calibration tube.
The instrument runs on 110 volts 15 amp AC power, and a supply of liquid nitrogen set at 22 psi if the liquid nitrogen option is selected. It is also recommended that all precautions be taken with regard to the setup and handling of the liquid nitrogen and the resulting nitrogen gas.
The instrument comes complete with the test fixture, temperature chamber and calibration tube as noted in Annex A1. Options include the LN2 control, Sample Cutting Die, Torque Wrench and Sample Guide fixture.
This oscillating disk-cure rheometer, per ASTM D-2084 and ISO-3417, tests elastomeric materials to determine values for viscosity, cure characteristics and temperature at various points in the cure cycle.
Computerized testing simplifies and reduces setup, data acquisition and display time.
The ODR software prompts the user through each screen, which greatly reduces employee training time. This software builds your data library by compound, batch and test, and stores data, on hard drive or disks, for future analysis.
The cure curve is displayed on monitor during test and can be printed after test or recalled and displayed on the screen at a later date.
Gate parameters can be set for all data points; any point out of parameter is flagged during test and marked on the test report.
This report includes cure curve and torque/time data for all selected points.
Statistical analysis is done on all selected data points.
This lab clicker press operates at a very low noise level. It features dial control daylight adjustment (1.5 to 5.1 in.), an easy turning swing beam and a two-hand safety trip. The table size is 13.75 x 25.5 in.
The air clicker is a smaller, inexpensive table top press for easy-to-cut materials
The mold must produce an imperfection free sample of uniform specified thickness.
The die must cut a specimen for testing that will be the specified shape within dimensional tolerances (including thickness) as indicated for the test in question.
Dies can be supplied with mallet handle for fast, easy hand stamping of test specimens using a maul, or for use in clicker presses. Special press adaptors can be produced upon request.
Benz creates a new instrument to measure hydrostatic burst strength of pipe and tube
The Benz Pipe Burst Tester (PT2100) tests pipe, tube and hose from 1/8" to 12.0", measuring burst pressure up to 3000 psi. Custom burst pipe testers can measure higher pressures and larger diameter samples.
